THE SHAPE OF SHADOWS
The Shape of Shadows is a 4-part series of creative writing and development workshops taught by PAGES Matam (They/He) with prompts, lessons, & guest talks, all aimed at equipping participants with tools and resources to understand the WHY of their poems and identifying the correct elements to best convey and enhance that WHY. This workshop series is meant as both an exploration of the work AND the artist, with each session building on four key components:
Body – ON THE ART OF THE METAPHOR (Concepts, visualization, imagery & poetic devices)
Light – THE MAGIC OF THE PAGE (Form, Structure, Shape & Breath of poetry)
Shadow – REMEMBER WHY YOU WROTE IT (Editing, Revisions, Purposeful poetry)
Surface – KNOW YOUR VOICE (How does the work move beyond the page or stage)
This workshop is meant for active poets and artists who want to continue to build out the scope of their work such as curriculum and workshops, screenwriting, transmedia art & theater, manuscript, and best practices for the work to remain in alignment with the artist.
