Unlocking Energies
In this four-week generative writing course, we will use craft to nurture and transmute the energy of our lives into the energy of our language and voices on the page. By focusing on fundamental elements of poetry, such as diction, rhythm, and sonic echo, we’ll explore the ways craft allows us to speak across time and distance. We’ll explore the connotative possibilities of pacing, space, and silence. By cycling through a range of expressive techniques, you’ll be given the tools to bring a world and a range of voices to life on the page. You’ll leave this workshop with a portfolio of new work and a deeper understanding of poetic craft.
