The Chapbook Intensive: Write Your Collection
This four-week generative workshop will help you start or keep building a themed poetry collection for Button Poetry’s annual chapbook contest. We’ll look closely at four collections Button Poetry has published to see what makes a collection work. Each week you’ll write new poems from guided prompts that approach your theme from different angles, and we’ll talk about how to shape those poems into a cohesive collection. By the end, you’ll have a solid set of drafts and the start of a chapbook you can keep developing and submit.
This workshop is discussion-based. You don’t need any existing work. Just bring a theme, question, or idea you’d like to explore.
Class Dates and Times:
Sundays in August
2:00pm CT | August 01 – August 22, 2027
Class Length: 4 weekly sessions
Class Duration: 2 hours via Zoom
Note: If you are gifting a Button U workshop, you MUST enter the recipients email address into the “Gift Message” field while checking out.
